• MMA Plant

Methylmethacrylate (MMA) is a clear liquid and is primarily used in the solid form of Polymerised Methylmethacrylate (PMMA) which is the clearest and most transparent plastic material available. PMMA is primarily used in the manufacture of sheet plastics and injection moulded components e.g. light fixtures, magazine racks, caravan windows, bath tubs, vehicle indicators etc.

MMA is used in 2 main applications

• As a solid, in the form of polymerised MMA (or PMMA). PMMA has the highest light transmission of all plastics and is often used when transparency is critical.
• As a liquid added to other liquids to create paints, coatings etc and in the manufacture of other chemical products.

The initial capacity of QUINN-chemicals MMA plant will be 100,000 tonnes per year. This capacity will be eventually expanded over time.
